A little about me:
Hello friends, my name is Gene Henry. I have experienced many changes in real estate over the years. One thing that hasn’t changed is people want the kind of service one would expect from a dedicated full-time realtor. Especially with something considerable like buying or selling a home. I have seen and personally been through good experiences and bad in this business. This has prepared me to help my clients by giving me invaluable experience. Odds are, I’ve helped people in the same or a similar situation as you many times. My clients trust me to give them the tools they need to make informed decisions while receiving the service they deserve. I don’t take that lightly. I was born and raised here. It’s getting a little more uncommon to find a native here because of the tremendous growth we have had from people from all over the country. This is my home. I’m glad to show you what I know and help you figure out your options. I’m raising two incredible kids here myself. I have worked along the grand strand since age 14 when I worked the go kart tracks at the fun spot (which is gone now). With a culinary background, I spent more than 15 years working in the service industry along our beaches and in Conway. In 2013 a friend and local broker encouraged me to get my real estate license. He showed me the ropes and gave me the opportunity to help people and do things the right way. I’ve since worked under and learned from some incredible people and gained experience from my own business dealings. I love this area and my roots are deeply planted here along with my family. To further my education, I passed the brokers exam in 2021. I am now broker associate with RE/MAX Southern Shores, the #1 Company in our area. What do you do when you’re not selling real estate?
I always have work on my my mind but some things I like to do with my free time are:
- Hanging out with my kids, they are my life
- Love to cook, I spent 15 years in the Culinary field
- Love learning the electric bass guitar
- Anything outdoor: camping, hiking, fishing, hunting…etc

I have developed a basic system where I think backwards from worst case scenarios to give you the best chance of having a smooth transaction and avoiding potential problems.
What is something your not good at in real estate:
WelI, unlike most agents, I don’t like talking about myself or plastering my picture everywhere. I’m more traditional in some ways. I lean towards being more introverted. Introverts pay attention to detail, are great at reaching people and being empathetic, which is all great for real estate. However, I sometimes fail to follow up or keep up with past clients because its exhausting working with people all day. I put so much energy and effort into the people in front of me, that I loose contact with clients that I became good friends with. Its a balance I need to work on. I also do real estate videos. Have you ever sat in a room and talked to your phone? I’m really bad at it but I know people need the information, so I struggle through it.
